REVIEW
Ishtakamya is one of the
worst Kannada movies I have ever watched as of 17 – May – 2017. This film
offers one of the stupidest ending that makes absolutely no sense at all. The
overall experience is boring. Could someone please tell these directors to stop
shooting films like it’s in the 90s and update it?
I don’t know anything
about the main cast but analyzing this movie alone, their performance was not
that bad. The fact how the film is executed didn’t help their case but judging
their performance alone, it wasn’t that bad. But Kavya Shetty had no character
development at all and she contributed nothing to the movie. She was a bitch
for the first 2 scenes then completely disappears for the rest of the movie. It
seemed like the director forgot she is one of the main lead so they made her
forcefully show up to setup the interval twist and forced complication. She
then continues her bitchy attitude showing no other qualities then out of the
blue, she witnesses a pregnancy and sudden character change to strengthen the
forced complication of the love triangle even though the answer is very simple.
The guy playing her father, Rangayana Raghu is annoying and Chikkanna comedy is horrible.
The first half was
interesting. The setup they were going for had some curiosity to it that made
me go forward with what they will do with this concept. Then you suddenly go
downhill to boredom because it goes nowhere. The interval scene and the
horrible ending destroys whatever hope this movie had going. The interval scene
conflicts everything we knew about the main actor’s character. It makes him
look like a cheat and a fraud which is not the character of the doctor. The
first half had an interesting premise going but as the story progress you start
to lose hope and eventually when you get to the interval scene, you are in the
point of no return.
The seconds begins with
the main actor’s reasoning for his actions but it doesn’t justify his actions
at all. The summary of the reason as to why he started an affair (no other way
of putting it, he has an affair with Mayuri Kyatari) is Kavya Shetty was very bossy, never showed any signs of attraction
though married because of her bossy attitude, has germaphobia and tokophobia.
That is the summary of it. But that still is (first of all forced) not what
they were trying to setup the main character to be. He still looks like a fraud
and a cheat. The worst part is that Mayuri Kyatari still tries to continue the
relationship with him despite knowing that he is a married person. Does this
script writer know good morality or not? Who thought this was a good idea? Then
it’s the ending, if you don’t want spoilers for the ending then fuck off
because I’m telling it.
The ending is Mayuri Kyatari goes away from him to take up
aviation and Kavya Shetty drives to her husband i.e. the main actor. So, they
give the buildup as Mayuri Kyatari is in a vehicle going away from him and Kavya
Shetty is coming in her car to her husband’s home. There is a suspense factor
as in the background, few workers are loading logs into a truck that is uphill
and few of them slips and one of the log kills one of the ladies. It turns out
it was his Kavya Shetty. The end credits show Mayuri Kyatari as a pilot (or
something like that). That is the ending. So, what was the need for the Kavya
Shetty to die if the other was going to be away from him anyway? What does that
ending accomplish? Why did the Kavya Shetty need to die and not Mayuri Kyatari
since she was more morally wrong in continuing the relationship with a married
guy? The ending served no purpose to the story and it raises a lot more
questions that the ones I gave above. Fuck this movie in its ass.
In conclusion, don’t even
try to watch this movie. This movie has nothing new to offer and whatever it
did had to offer it will destroy it as it progresses. The story is boring, the
supporting cast and Kavya Shetty offers nothing to the story. Terrible comedy,
horrible execution. Songs were average at best. I am not touching this movie
again. So, the only message I have for this movie is Fuck off you fucking piece of shit. Fuck you and don’t ever show me
your scenes again. Piece of shit. Anybody having the opposite opinion can fuck
off as well because this is my opinion of the movie. I hate it. I hate it to
the core. Worst Kannada movie I watched as of 17 – May – 2017.
