REVIEW

I found the story to be slightly above average. I was very hyped going in but the story presented nothing new nor did it try to give something new. The main characters had so much potential but it was completely wasted.

Puneeth Rajkumar was done his role very intelligently. He plays a protagonist that plans his every move before executing them. A brilliant job in every scene and the impact he bestows will be there till the end of the movie.

Rachita Ram had nothing special going on for her. She plays the bubbly idiotic heroine that should have been overused in Indian films by now. A majority of the first half focused on her trying to win Puneeth Rajkumar whereas you can sum it all in 2 – 3 scenes.

Arun Vijay is making his Kannada debut as the main antagonist. He was completely under-used in this movie. He was the perfect villain I was waiting for so many years. He was the perfect villain for Puneeth Rajkumar as both had similar traits. He is a very intelligent villain who uses his intelligence to take his revenge on Puneeth Rajkumar. A villain with so much potential that was untapped.

I was very hyped going in as the IMDb have it a rating that was similar to Srimanthudu. I didn’t read about the reviews and I dived into the movie blindly. The first half was completely lazy. You answer me this… how awesome it would have been to have the thrill of the hero and villain in a battle of wits where the hero very intelligently finds ways to give out punishment to the villains while the main antagonist tries to unravel who is behind all this and the second half focused on them fighting it out as they find ways to outdo each other similar to a “Tom and Jerry” cartoon??? How awesome it would have been to watch that version??? I was very hoping for that as well but what we got was a first half lazily devoted to the bubbly idiotic heroine trying to attract Puneeth Rajkumar.

As for the main antagonist, he was completely under-used in this movie. He shows up in the beginning for like 2 – 3 minutes and then doesn’t show up at all until the second half of the movie. But a positive thing is that whenever he showed up it was super awesome to watch. He made you feel like you wanted to watch him more and more as he tries to find Puneeth Rajkumar. The first half may have been lazy but when he showed up for the second half, it was totally worth the laziness (partially).

This was a painfully disappointing movie that failed to use its potential. The second half is the only interesting part of the movie but after watching you will feel like this should have been the first half and them fighting using only their intelligence should been the second half. An awesome movie that made such use of it is Thani Oruvan. I would have loved it if this movie went that route. For a movie named Chakravyuha meaning Labyrinth, the only real puzzle happened during second half. I don't know if I can recommend this to anyone but if you are interested in watching it despite my review, then skip the whole first half and start watching from the second half.
