REVIEW

Another Akshay-Katrina movie that knows what to give and when to give it. This movie is so much fun to watch that I'm going to watch it again after my examinations. Though their previous combo Humko Deewana Kar Gaye had a few problems, it was very nice to watch as a romance movie. It was certainly better than some of the recent romance films. Back to this film, this movie wastes no time and jumps straight into the story.

Akshay Kumar is the perfect casting choice for this type of movies. He is one of the best actors of Bollywood and this movie is the best example of an awesome Akshay Kumar performance. I got to know that Priyanka Chopra was the original choice for the role of Jasmeet Malhotra Singh (Jazz). However, Salman Khan forced the director to replace her with his then girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Honestly, I know that Priyanka Chopra could give justice to the role but I am glad that the director decided to go with Katrina Kaif instead as she does have a British nature to her and could give a more genuine British look which the movie did very well. Both of them have good chemistry in films and both of them managed to give life to their characters. Riteish Deshmukh has a cameo role in the film. At first I was confused as to why he was needed but I was later given clarity in the movie. I'm also glad that his cameo was short but sweet. Rishi Kapoor as Manmohan Malhotra is another great performance. It's Rishi Kapoor, you can't possibly f*ck this guy up  and this movie proves it. He is so fun to watch as always and is still to this day a better actor than his son.

The movie is originally based on a true life story of Akshay's friend. I was genuinely immersed in the story. It had the right amount of comedy, emotion, dedication, and immersion. I could actually feel what Akshay Kumar's role was feeling. He was that good. I wish that recent romance stories were as good as this film. The story gives strong morals and even gives good morals to those who have fallen in love recently. The movie tackles real life problems in the right way. It's very difficult to find any negativity in the story.

Some of the negatives I found was the continuity errors. It may not be noticeable at first but since this movie is so good that it can be watched multiple times, you will start to notice some careless mistakes. It doesn't hurt the movie that much but carelessness in a movie like this, so much so that it does start to become noticeable as the story progresses brings down some of the points for me. Some of the ones I noticed was:
1) When Akshay Kumar, speaking in Hindi, says "Teen Hazaar Panchson" magazines, Katrina Kaif wrongly translates it to "Thirty Five Thousand" instead of "Three Thousand Five Hundred" in English.
2) When Charlie and Jazz are at the altar the priest says, "Do you Jasmeet Singh take Charles Brown to be your lawfully wedded husband" when Jazz's surname is Malhotra.
3) When you first see Akshay Kumar riding down the dirt road on his motorbike, he has iPod earphones in his ears. In the next scene of him stopping his bike and approaching the car, the earphones have disappeared, as well as the sight of any iPod or mp3 player.
4) In the disco where Jasmeet and her friends are partying, she goes to the entrance and splashes her martini on Charlie. Yet in the next shot Charlie's face as well as clothes show no signs of being wet.
5) After some girls offer lassi to Jasmeet in Baldev's house in Punjab and are heading down the stairs, a crew member can be seen near the staircase.
These are some of the errors I noticed in the movie. There may be more, I don't know, but these caught my eye. So by that logic, it's noticeable enough to catch viewer's eyes as well. Hence these continuity errors were few points down for me. However, you can still have a good time watching this movie despite such errors as the story manages to grip you in.

In conclusion, this movie is a very huge bucket of fun. Everything from the characters, their interactions, the problems they face, how they find the solution to them, the execution of scenes, the chemistry between Akshay-Katrina in the movie, all of them are done fantastically well. Fun and enjoyment is definitely guaranteed with this entertainment gem. I have no idea how I missed this movie before but I'm glad that I finally got a chance to watch it.
