REVIEW

This movie is easily one of the best movies of SRK. This movie has a strong story and a very compelling cast. This movie managed to impress me much more than Kaabil. I never felt bored during even a single scene. The suspense, the creativity, the writing, the performance, all of them were fantastic.

The first half starts with his childhood days. How he got the idea to do "business" and what not and then forwards tho his SRK days where the majority of the film takes place (obviously). When he decides he wants to "business" on his own, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a policeman, becomes his major obstacle. Then it's about how SRK foils Nawazuddin Siddiqui's plans to arrest SRK. This is the moment when you actually think. You know that there is a lot of creativity here. We get to know how SRK thinks and how he reacts to certain situations and each of them is connected to the story. The first half also introduces us to Mahira Khan, the love interest/wife of SRK and by god thank you for Mahira Khan. After a whole barrage of stupid filler heroines, we finally get a female lead who is intelligent and is important to the story. She is very supportive, understands the situation and reacts accordingly and is charming. So thank you for this female lead. Hope we get more female leads like her. The intermission happens after the "Laila Main Laila" item song and him murdering the guy who helped him in his business since his childhood because (I won't spoil why he killed him). And I gotta say, I loved the song remake and I also loved the fact that it was necessary to include it. After a long time, I found an item number that actually connects to the story.

The second half begins and if I tell you anything about this it'll be a major spoiler as everything in the first half is connected to the second half. The short spoiler-free version is that the struggles of SRK and the intensity of the story both increases drastically here. This is the point where everyone's performance is at their best. It's been so long since I've seen a second half this good. It's so satisfying and it also does the first half justice. The climax was predictable yet excellently shot. The ending is one of the best and unexpected ending I've ever seen.

In conclusion, this is an awesome movie. One of the best movies of SRK, hands down. If I was given the choice of which movie is better among the two, I would definitely say Raees wins. That doesn't mean Kaabil was bad (far from it), it's just that when I analysed both movies I just know that Raees had the better script, better casting, better songs, better ending, better atmosphere. But I would recommend you watch both movies because both of those movies deserve a watch. But in my opinion, Raees wins hands down the fight between Raees vs Kaabil. That is my opinion but I do want you to watch both. Watch them and enjoy! 2017 is going good after a disappointing start with OK Jaanu. Let's see what comes next.
