REVIEW

I researched online (looked at Wikipedia 😉) that the first Mungaru Male is the movie that made Ganesh popular or at least made his career. I don't know what is so great about the first one as I haven't watched it but I can definitely say that this film was a disappointment. This movie drags on the one quality Ganesh (in the movie role) has for about 2 hours.

The first half opens with Ganesh flirting with a lady in a bikini after 18 minutes (as narrated by Ganesh) via a video and her getting impressed by the fact that a stranger was creeping on her and shooting videos of her. Then it shifts to her meeting Ganesh, accepting his proposal (for some stupid reason) and then a song montage of them doing stuff and then Ganesh breaking up with her just because he got bored with her. Then we shift to him and his father racing in expensive cars in the most boring and cliched race I ever seen on film. Eventually Ganesh rides a train and meets the heroine, then leaves the train with her, then they do stuff together, she falls in love but doesn't say it and he obviously ignoring it, she leaves him via a video, and he gets all "I miss her".  Not only was a majority of the first half routine but it was so boring to sit through. It was so boring and so unimpressive. There was hardly any creativity in the first half whole. This is what constitutes the remaining first half. His dad tells him to grow a pair and propose to her as he finally found his true love. So he goes to her native and meets her uncle or something like that. Now he is known for comedy but the scenes with him were so unfunny and irritating. Then the routine stuff; he proposes to her, she accepts and then his father arrives to reason with her family as her marriage was already fixed with another guy we don't give a shit about. Now to provide conflict they think of the laziest reason as to why she can't marry Ganesh, "I killed someone in their family by accident so I'm giving my daughter as a repentance", as though we never watched indefinite movies using that. So this should pretty much sum things up, the first half was boring, cliched, and uninteresting. You feel nothing for these characters and pretty much end up feeling bored.

The second begins with Ganesh's dad telling him to grow a pair and sacrifice your love. He does that and there lies a bunch of useless scenes then accident happens where the heroine and her fiance are in trouble. Fiance is saved by nothing, he just jumps out the car as it files out and Ganesh saves the heroine. This is the only good part of the movie. Here there was tension, intriguing scenes, thought of how her parents will react once she is hospitalized. This is without a doubt the best scene of the movie but need to wait for 2 hours for it to happen. The ending is routine stuff.

In conclusion, this is a disappointing film. There is lack of creativity, cliched scenes, boring execution and unimpactful songs. The only positive of the movie is the cast and that climax. Everything else falls flat. I can say without a doubt that this is one movie I won't be watching a second time.
