REVIEW

An excellent movie that shows a lot of promise. I was a little hesitant to watch this movie as it has kind of a strange concept but I was drawn to it due to the positive review and the fact that it's a unique story.

The movie starts of boring with hardly any background music. So, the first impression was not good. Even the action at the beginning felt boring as without the matching background music, I was unable to feel the intensity of the action itself. However, the movie does manage to pick up later on. The story becomes more intense, immersive and I started to have fun with it. There is hardly any comedy in the movie even though Brahmanandam is in it. Brahmanandam is used as a serious character and I liked this angle. I was so used to the comedic angle of Brahmanandam so watching this was something fresh and new. However, I don't know why the director felt it was necessary to add comedy to his character. Even the comedy was terribly put together. He just falls into a hole. That's the comedy. This was the only major complaint I have with the movie. This was forced and unnecessary.

Gopichand as Kiran is written very well. There is a certain humanistic look to his character. His struggle to survive and simultaneously achieve his goals is what drives this movie. I liked his character so much and he had so much to work with that I assumed he might not be able to do it well enough but he exceeded my expectations. I'm finally relieved that the director didn't turn him into another "Superman" type action hero like most Telugu movie action heroes. There are traces of it here and there but a good majority of the action was believable. However, a matching background music would have helped the viewers immerse in the action a lot better.

Neha Jhulka as Gautami is not that bad but not that great either. She doesn't do much but at the same time the movie can't move forward without her. The romance came a bit sudden and it felt unnecessary to the main story. But she did bring a lot of energy to her performance and her role was engaging though could have done better in the romance portion.

Mahesh Manjrekar as Sona Bhai is the main antagonist of the movie. He is the villain living on a pacemaker and is trying to find a matching heart so that he could live. He is the highlight of the movie. He has to act with a bunch of tubes stuck to his body which is not an easy task and he does it with such consistency. He is the best part of the movie. I loved the fact that for the first time (out of all the Telugu movies I've watched) both the villain and the hero has to struggle to meet their ends and it's survival of the fittest. I absolutely loved that because it's never done in Telugu cinema properly. He has shown his talents of an actor in this movie than anything else.

The story is very unique especially in 2007 timeline. The scenes are executed very well though some small improvements would have gotten more points in my point of view. The songs are not bad but there are no transitions to the songs at all. It just jumps to the song directly. Again, this is 2007 movie and hence a good transition to the song would have helped the movie more but it is enjoyable.

In conclusion, this is not a bad movie. I had a lot of fun with this movie. All the actors did well and the scene execution was done well (though improvements could have been made) and the movie was immersive once you get past the boring first few minutes. This is a very good action movie and I would recommend you to watch it strictly for the action genre. This movie was more action than a thriller but still, it was an awesome movie. If you don't believe me, then just watch the movie and see for yourself.
